The Rickman brothers, Don and
Derek, started their career in off-road racing and started building
road race frames in the mid-sixties. Under their 'Metisse' brand
name they built nice double cradle-type, brazed, nickel plated
frames that could be fit with a variety of british engines (ie.
Triumph, BSA, Norton, Velocette).
When the british bike industry fell apart in the early seventies,
the Rickman brothers quickly switched gears and started producing
CR (Competition Replica) specials based on the Kawasaki Z1 900
and Honda CB750. The squeezed the big Japanese fours into their
beautiful hand crafted frames and wrapped it in stylish bodywork,
the very same stuff you see here today!
Airtech owner Kent Riches restored one a few years ago and made
the already exclusive Rickamn even more exotic with a full set
of carbon bodywork including the fuel tank!
